International Women’s Day 2022

The Ascot Community is committed to raising awareness in relation to equity.
International Women’s Day is important as it helps us all stop and remember that gender bias still exists in this world and it is up to us to make sustainable equitable choices. Tuesday, March 8th Ascot community celebrated #IWD2022 with morning tea for Year 12 and 13 students hosted by our Head of School.

Ascot Community is the only school in Thailand that runs the IWD Campaign officially supported by the global International Women’s Day  We do this so that our children learn about the gender equality and how to #Breakthebias.

Mrs Ciempka highlighted to our students the incredible work throughout history women have done in order for this generation to have greater levels of equity.  She also highlighted that the work still exists and it is up to our IB graduates to use the education and the privilege they have to keep challenging the bias in this world.

Mrs Ciempka also announced that Ascot International School will provide 2 scholarships through the American Women’s Foundation Scholarship Program for disadvantaged Thai girls to ensure they are able to finish their Secondary Education.  Ascot community members can also contribute to this wonderful initiative of the AWC

Together, we create a better world of equality.
