At Ascot International School, we believe that children grow best when families, teachers and the school community work together.
As part of our World Gratitude Day activities, our Early Years families joined us for a special Parent Partnership Experience. The afternoon brought parents, children and teachers together through learning, creativity and meaningful connection.
Parents were welcomed into the classroom to join their children, take part in activities and experience learning through their child’s eyes. It was a chance to enjoy time together while also discovering more about everyday learning in Early Years.
Most importantly, the experience celebrated something at the heart of our community: the relationships that help children feel supported as they learn and grow.
For parents, hearing about a child’s day and being part of that day can be very different experiences.
During the Parent Partnership Experience, families had the opportunity to step into their child’s learning environment and share part of the classroom experience with them.
Throughout the afternoon, families had opportunities to:
These shared moments gave parents a closer look at the environment their children experience at school.
For the children, it was also a special opportunity to welcome their parents into their classroom and share an important part of their school life with them.
In Early Years, children learn from the world and people around them.
Learning can happen when children explore an idea, create something, communicate with others or simply become curious about what they see.
The Parent Partnership Experience gave families the chance to see this approach in action.
Rather than separating school and home, the afternoon brought the two together. Parents could experience how everyday interactions can become meaningful opportunities for children to learn.
This connection is important because learning does not only happen inside the classroom. Children continue to explore, communicate and discover when they are at home and spending time with their families.
By understanding more about their child’s school experience, parents can continue to encourage this natural curiosity beyond the classroom.

This year’s Parent Partnership Experience was also connected with our World Gratitude Day activities.
Gratitude does not always need to be expressed through big gestures. For young children, it can begin with simple experiences: spending time with someone, sharing, listening and recognising the people who support us.
Bringing children, families and teachers together created an opportunity to celebrate these relationships.
The afternoon encouraged our community to appreciate:
In this way, World Gratitude Day became more than a celebration. It became an opportunity to spend meaningful time together and recognise the relationships that are part of each child’s journey.
Families know their children deeply, while teachers see how children learn and interact within the school environment.
When these experiences come together, they can create a stronger understanding of each child.
Strong home-school partnerships can help children feel that the important people in their lives are working together.
Through communication and shared experiences, families and teachers can:
Parent partnership is therefore not only about keeping families informed. It is about welcoming families into the learning journey.
The Early Years are an important time for children as they begin to understand themselves, build relationships and become more confident in new environments.
A strong sense of belonging can help children feel comfortable enough to explore and take part in their learning.
Children are surrounded by different relationships as they grow. Parents, family members, teachers and friends can all become part of their support system.
When home and school have a positive connection, children can experience a greater sense of consistency and support.
This is why opportunities to bring our families into school are so valuable. They help create relationships beyond the classroom and strengthen the wider community around our young learners.
The Parent Partnership Experience was not only about seeing what happens inside the classroom. It was also about bringing people together.
Parents could spend time with their children in the learning environment, teachers could connect with families, and children could enjoy having the people important to them sharing the experience.
These moments help us continue to build a community where:
This sense of community is an important part of the Early Years experience at Ascot.
Every child has their own interests, ideas, experiences and ways of learning.
Building meaningful relationships with families helps us understand the individual child more fully. It also helps create an environment where children know that there are people around them who listen, support and encourage them.
Our Early Years Parent Partnership Experience was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when home and school come together.
Thank you to all our families who joined us and made the afternoon so meaningful.
Through shared experiences like these, we continue to strengthen our community and create an environment where every child can grow with confidence and feel Known, Valued and Heard.
