Gratitude is more than saying “thank you.” It is a life skill that helps children appreciate the people around them, build positive relationships, and develop kindness.
When children learn to be grateful from a young age, they become more aware of the good things in their lives. They also learn empathy, respect, and how to care for others. These are important skills that help children both inside and outside the classroom.
At Ascot International School, we believe that learning should help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Gratitude is one of the values that supports this journey.
This year, our Early Years and Primary Years students celebrated World Gratitude Day through meaningful activities that brought families, friends, and teachers together.
In Early Years, children worked alongside their parents to decorate colourful picture frames. Every frame was unique and filled with creativity, laughter, and love. These special keepsakes will remind children of the happy memories they created with their families.
In Primary Years, each class celebrated in its own creative way. Students designed meaningful memory pieces with their classmates, parents, and teachers. Every activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and appreciation for one another.
The focus was not only on making something beautiful, but also on sharing meaningful moments together.
Our students also joined The World’s Largest Gratitude Lesson, connecting with thousands of children from schools around the world.
After the live lesson, students continued their learning in their classrooms. They reflected on the people, places, and experiences they were thankful for. Some shared their thoughts through writing, while others created artwork or spoke with their classmates about what gratitude means to them.
Being part of this global event helped students understand that gratitude is a value shared by people from many different cultures and countries.

Simple habits, such as thanking someone, reflecting on positive moments, or helping others, can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
