Early Years Open Day 2026

Early Years Discovery Day at Ascot International School Bangkok

Friday, 18 September 2026 | From 8:00 AM

Choosing the right school for your young child is an important decision. A website or brochure can tell you about a school, but visiting in person gives you the chance to see how children learn, meet the people who will support them and experience the school environment for yourself.

Ascot International School invites families to join our Early Years Discovery Day on Friday, 18 September 2026, from 8:00 AM onwards.

This special morning is designed for families who are looking for an international Early Years school in Bangkok and would like to discover how Ascot supports children during these important first years of education.

Discover Early Years at Ascot

The Early Years are a time of discovery. Young children learn by playing, exploring, asking questions, communicating and building relationships with the people around them.

At Ascot, our Early Years learning environment is designed to help children feel safe, comfortable and confident as they begin their educational journey.

Our approach is play-based and child-centred, using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Development Matters guidance together with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) framework.

This means learning is not only about sitting at a table and completing activities. Children are encouraged to be active participants in their learning.

They have opportunities to explore their environment, communicate their ideas, develop friendships, solve problems, be creative and gradually become more independent.

Begin Your Child's Journey at Ascot

The first years of education can shape how children see themselves as learners.

At Ascot International School, we want these years to be filled with curiosity, discovery, meaningful relationships and opportunities to grow.

Come and see, explore and discover Early Years at Ascot.

Learning Through Play, Exploration and Inquiry

For young children, play has an important role in learning.

A simple building activity can introduce ideas about shapes, balance and problem-solving. Storytelling can develop communication, imagination and early literacy. Outdoor play can support physical development, teamwork and confidence.

Our teachers create meaningful experiences that encourage children to explore, question, create and reflect. This helps children begin making connections and understanding the world around them.
Rather than focusing only on what children know, we also want them to develop curiosity and a positive relationship with learning.

Strong Partnerships with Parents

Supporting the Whole Child

Every child develops differently, especially during the Early Years.

At Ascot, we recognise the importance of supporting children’s academic, physical, social, emotional and communication development together.

Our Early Years classrooms include routines, visual support, opportunities for movement, play-based learning and different ways for children to participate and show their understanding.

Teachers and Co-Educators work together to create a responsive classroom environment, supporting learning activities, classroom routines, transitions and children’s social-emotional wellbeing.

The aim is to create an environment where children can gradually develop confidence, independence and a sense of belonging.

A School Where Everyone Belongs

Ascot has been part of Bangkok’s international education community since 1995.

Our vision is centred on students developing according to their individual needs within a welcoming, family environment. Ascot also promotes respect, wellbeing, lifelong learning and an international outlook.

For Early Years children, belonging is particularly important.

Starting school can be a big change. Children need time to become familiar with their teachers, classmates, classroom and daily routines.

We therefore want children to feel that school is a place where they are known, valued and heard, and where learning can be exciting, meaningful and enjoyable.

What Can Families Discover During Early Years Discovery Day?

Our Discovery Day gives parents an opportunity to look beyond photographs and experience Ascot for themselves.

Families can explore our Early Years environment, learn more about our educational approach and gain a clearer understanding of what everyday learning can look like for a young child at Ascot.

It is also an opportunity to ask questions about your child’s education and learn more about the journey from the Early Years into Primary and the wider Ascot learning community.

Most importantly, you can experience the atmosphere of the school and consider whether Ascot feels like the right environment for your child and family.
