The PYP Exhibition Comes to Life: Year 6 Students Showcase Inquiry, Leadership and Global Impact

At Ascot International School, learning is about more than gaining knowledge. It is about developing confident, caring, and globally minded learners who are ready to make a positive difference. This spirit was beautifully demonstrated during our Year 6 PYP Exhibition, the final and most important learning experience of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

After eight weeks of research, inquiry, creativity, and collaboration, our Year 6 students proudly presented projects inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The exhibition celebrated not only what students learned, but also how they grew as independent learners, communicators, and future changemakers.

A Celebration of Student Agency and Meaningful Inquiry

The PYP Exhibition is a significant milestone that gives students ownership of their learning. Throughout the process, students explored meaningful global issues, asked thoughtful questions, conducted research, and developed ideas that could create a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Visitors enjoyed a wide range of creative presentations, including interactive displays, visual boards, websites, glossary booklets, and cue cards. Each project reflected the students’ curiosity, critical thinking, and commitment to solving real-world challenges.

The exhibition began with a touching performance of “We Are The World,” creating an inspiring atmosphere and reminding everyone that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and responsible global citizens.

Building Confident Communicators and Future-Ready Learners

One of the highlights of the exhibition was seeing our Year 6 students confidently explain their learning journeys to parents, teachers, mentors, and visitors. They spoke clearly about their research, challenges, reflections, and the actions they planned to take, demonstrating the strong communication and thinking skills developed throughout the PYP.

The exhibition represented the culmination of years of learning, bringing together the knowledge, skills, and IB Learner Profile attributes that students have developed from Early Years through Year 6. Their confidence, resilience, creativity, and independence reflected Ascot’s commitment to preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.

This learning experience also aligns with Ascot International School’s strategic vision of nurturing future-ready learners through inquiry-based learning, collaboration, innovation, and global citizenship.
