Science Exhibition of Secondary student 2025–2026: Innovating for a Sustainable Future

The Ascot MYP Science Exhibition 2025–2026 transformed our auditorium into a vibrant space filled with creativity, innovation, and discovery. Under the theme “Innovating for a Sustainable Future,” students from Years 7–9 proudly presented their scientific projects and explored how science can help solve real-world challenges.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors discovered engaging displays, informative presentation boards, practical experiments, and interactive games. Each project reflected the curiosity, creativity, and hard work of our students as they investigated important topics related to science, the environment, and sustainability.

The event was more than a showcase of scientific knowledge. It gave students the opportunity to think critically, communicate their ideas with confidence, work collaboratively, and develop solutions for a better future.

Exploring Real-World Challenges Through Science of Secondary

This year’s theme encouraged students to look beyond the classroom and explore real challenges facing our world today. They investigated scientific and environmental issues and considered how new ideas and innovative solutions could support a more sustainable future.

Through this process, students learned that science is not only about understanding facts and theories. It is also a powerful way to ask important questions, investigate problems, test ideas, and find possible solutions.

By connecting classroom learning with real-world issues, students developed a deeper understanding of how science can play an important role in shaping communities and improving the world around us.

Developing Projects Through Inquiry and Investigation at Secondary Years Level

Over several weeks, students worked carefully to develop and refine their projects. They asked questions, carried out research, planned investigations, tested their ideas, and reflected on their results. This inquiry-based learning process encouraged students to take an active role in their own education. Instead of simply receiving information, they became young researchers and problem-solvers who explored ideas through curiosity and discovery. The exhibition showed how meaningful learning can happen when students are encouraged to ask questions, explore possibilities, and take ownership of their learning journey.

Building Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills at Secondary Years Level

Every scientific investigation involves challenges, and learning how to respond to these challenges is an important part of the MYP experience. Throughout their projects, students needed to analyse information, make decisions, test different approaches, and improve their work. These experiences helped them strengthen their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Students also learned that successful innovation often requires patience, reflection, and the willingness to try again. These are valuable skills that can support them not only in science but also in their future studies, careers, and everyday lives.

Learning Through Collaboration and Creativity at Secondary Years Level

Collaboration was another important part of the MYP Science Exhibition. Students shared ideas, listened to different perspectives, divided responsibilities, and supported one another throughout the development of their projects.

Working together helped students understand that different ideas and viewpoints can lead to stronger solutions. At the same time, creativity allowed them to explore scientific questions in new and engaging ways.

From practical experiments and informative displays to interactive games, the projects demonstrated how science can become an exciting experience when curiosity, teamwork, and imagination come together.

Sharing Learning with Confidence at Secondary Years Level

One of the highlights of the exhibition was seeing students confidently present their work to parents, teachers, peers, and other visitors.

Students explained their scientific investigations, answered questions, discussed their findings, and shared the learning journeys behind their projects. These conversations gave them valuable opportunities to strengthen their communication skills and develop greater confidence in expressing their ideas. Being able to communicate knowledge clearly is an important part of learning. Through experiences like the MYP Science Exhibition, students learn how to turn complex ideas into meaningful conversations and engage with different audiences.

Preparing Students for a Changing World at Secondary Years Level

At Ascot International School, we believe education should prepare students not only for examinations but also for the opportunities and challenges of the future.

The MYP Science Exhibition reflected this approach by encouraging students to become curious thinkers, confident communicators, creative problem-solvers, and responsible global citizens. By exploring sustainability and real-world scientific challenges, students considered how their knowledge and actions can contribute to positive change.

These future-focused skills help students become more independent and prepared to respond to a world that continues to change.

Celebrating Our MYP Learning Community at Secondary Years Level

The Ascot MYP Science Exhibition 2025–2026 was a meaningful celebration of learning, curiosity, and student achievement. The impressive projects on display reflected weeks of dedication, research, collaboration, and creative thinking. It was wonderful to see so many students, parents, teachers, and staff come together to celebrate our young scientists and engage with their ideas. We would like to thank all our students for their enthusiasm and hard work, our teachers for their guidance and support, and our families for being an important part of our learning community. Through experiences like the MYP Science Exhibition, Ascot continues to create opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop important skills, and understand how learning can help them contribute to a more sustainable and positive future.
