Science Exhibition of Secondary student 2025–2026: Innovating for a Sustainable
For many students, some of the most meaningful lessons happen outside the classroom. This was certainly true for our Year 7 students, who recently returned from an unforgettable residential trip to Rayong filled with adventure, exploration, and personal growth.
Throughout the week, students embraced new experiences, challenged themselves, and discovered how learning can happen anywhere. From exploring coral reefs to preparing traditional Thai dishes, every activity encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and independence.
Residential trips provide students with opportunities to learn in real-world environments and develop skills that cannot always be taught in a classroom setting.
For many students, this was their first experience spending several days away from home with friends and teachers. They learned to manage their own routines, take responsibility for their belongings, and support one another throughout the journey.
Each day brought exciting opportunities for students to participate in hands-on activities designed to build confidence and resilience.

Whether paddling through calm waters, following maps through natural trails, or preparing local dishes together, students showed enthusiasm, determination, and a willingness to try something new.
One of the most memorable experiences of the trip was studying marine ecosystems through snorkelling and reef studies.
Equipped with snorkelling gear, students explored the underwater world and observed a variety of marine organisms in their natural habitat. Seeing coral formations and colourful fish up close helped students better understand the importance of biodiversity and the delicate balance of ocean ecosystems.
These experiences transformed science lessons into meaningful real-life learning opportunities and encouraged students to think more deeply about how people can protect our planet.
Environmental awareness was an important theme throughout the residential experience.
Students participated in a beach clean-up initiative where they worked together to collect rubbish, sort materials, and analyse the types of waste found along the shoreline.
After gathering their data, students presented their findings and discussed practical ways to reduce pollution and care for coastal environments. Through this project, they developed research, communication, and critical thinking skills while reflecting on their role as responsible global citizens.
Beyond the educational activities, the residential experience gave students valuable opportunities to grow personally.
Living, learning, and sharing experiences together helped students strengthen friendships and develop important life skills. They learned how to cooperate, solve problems, and encourage one another when facing unfamiliar challenges.
It was inspiring to see students stepping beyond their comfort zones, celebrating small achievements, and gaining confidence each day. By the end of the trip, many students returned home feeling more independent, resilient, and ready to embrace future opportunities.
The Year 7 Residential Trip to Rayong was much more than an outdoor adventure. It was a journey of self-discovery, teamwork, and meaningful learning beyond the classroom. The laughter shared during activities, the conversations at mealtimes, and the excitement of trying something new created memories that students and staff will treasure for years to come.
