Year 8 Residential Trip to Pranburi & Hua Hin: Building Confidence Through Outdoor Learning

Learning does not only happen in the classroom. At Ascot International School, we believe students grow the most when they are encouraged to explore new places, work together, and challenge themselves. Our recent Year 8 Residential Trip to Pranburi and Hua Hin gave students the chance to do exactly that.

During the week, students enjoyed exciting outdoor activities while developing confidence, resilience, and teamwork. It was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, adventure, and lasting memories.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Residential trips are an important part of the learning journey at Ascot. They help students develop practical life skills while experiencing learning in real-world environments. After arriving and settling in, the students began an exciting week of activities. Every challenge encouraged them to become more independent, communicate with others, and support their classmates.

Adventure That Builds Confidence

Throughout the trip, students took part in a wide range of outdoor activities, including:

Cycling through beautiful local areas
Kayaking along the coast
Rock climbing and abseiling
Team-building activities
Environmental learning experiences
Trekking at Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park

One of the highlights of the trip was the trek to the famous cave temple in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. The hike was challenging, but students showed determination and resilience as they reached the top and enjoyed the breathtaking views.

These experiences encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, face new challenges, and discover what they were capable of achieving.

Learning to Care for Nature

The students also visited the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, where they learned about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting endangered animals. This visit helped students understand how people can care for the environment and the role everyone plays in protecting wildlife for future generations.

Developing Life Skills Through Experience

Every activity during the residential trip helped students develop important skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.

They also built stronger friendships, supported one another through challenges, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

A Week to Remember

We are incredibly proud of how our Year 8 students represented Ascot throughout the trip. They showed enthusiasm, respect, cooperation, and a positive attitude in every activity.
